Sporting fund enters its 18th hole

The annual Mayor’s Sporting Fund golf day will take place on November 25.

People can choose from a variety of options on the day, ranging from a team registration of $140, a hole sponsorship of $150 or a combined team and hole sponsorship of $230.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council mayor Peter Besseling said the day was a good opportunity to raise funds for a worthy cause.

“The Mayor’s Sporting has provided more than $300,000 to local athletes since its inception, providing talented young people with a financial boost as they pursue their sporting dreams,” Cr Besselingsaid.

“The Mayor’s Sporting Fund Golf Day is an opportunity for our community to contribute, and have some fun along the way.

“So let’s get behind our local athletes by supporting this great event.”

The Mayor’s Sporting Fund was established in 1999 by former mayor, Wayne Richards.

The 18th Annual Mayor’s Sporting Fund Golf Day tees off with a barbecue at midday, followed by a nine-hole Ambrose event at 1pm.

In total, 28 teams have registered along with six hole sponsors includingKing and Campbell, Paige Convincing, COMPASS, Financial, OIB.

Great prizes are on offer including a Gold Coast holiday, twoC-Blades corporate box tickets including drinks and food to a home game of their choice of either a ParramattaEels or Cronulla Sharks game during the 2017 season

Those tickets are valued at over $700.

Raffles will also be part of the fun filled afternoon.
